Astra H 1.4 playing up already - wont start. As title key in ignition go to start the ! light flashes (not engine management/service) and car won't start. All other electrics on and working fine. Happens with both keys.
10547 posts · Joined 2007. #3 · Mar 27, 2010. CIM problems are. horn inop. steering wheel scroll wheels inop. fail to start- No engine cranking. horn inop with lights on. The alarm might be the ultra sonic module or a problem with one of the BCM's. The radio might also be at fault.
While the horn is removed, check it by connecting it directly to the battery . Place the horn with its metal casing (or a terminal if there are two) against the battery negative terminal . Clip a test lead between the other horn terminal and the other battery terminal. If the horn works, refit it. If not, repair it if possible or replace it.

Using a multimeter set on the direct current icon, use one probe on the live side of the hooter itself and the other on the negative point of battery. With ignition on, press the hooter button and check for reading, it should be that of battery, if less then you have a short/draw/open
Fine file the groove of lightly sand clean grease the refit. Making sure steering position sensor marks are lined up and steering wheel marks also. Oh another note is after removing airbag straighten wheels before you remove anything as its a pain trying to line it up later on. Put back together.
